Mobile Microsites
|
Both QR codes and smartphones are becoming increasingly popular marketing tools. Particularly as mobile advertising is expected to grow to £355m in Britain by 2014 and the number of mobile internet users is expected to surpass the number of desktop internet users.
Present your information in a current and modern way by simply printing QR codes onto your products or promotional material. Users can scan these QR codes using their smartphones and are taken to a mobile microsite specially designed by TMB which can display animations, photos, videos, additional information, PDFs and much more. You can allow them access to further information by requesting their email address via a data capture form. When people are on the go, it makes it a more user-friendly experience for them to be able to access your mobile-friendly site via their smartphone from strategically-placed QR codes.
Scenario:
1) you're sending your customers the product(s) they've ordered but you'd like a way of capturing their personal data and showing them the rest of your product range.
2) you're at an exhibition and have a stand full of promotional material and collateral. You need a way of capturing people's information. By placing QR codes on your promotional material, you're giving visitors to the event an extra opportunity to view your range on the journey home or back at the office from the comfort of their smartphones.
When the QR code is scanned, it also captures the customer's smartphone information such as where and when it was scanned giving you a wider insight into where and how the codes are being scanned.
Examples of mobile microsites:
Simply scan these QR codes or click on them from your desktop computer to see the pages.
3M Command Strips promotion
In this example, these QR codes were placed on promotional literature which was handed out at events. People can scan these QR codes using their smartphones and are taken to a carousel of different product images. Each one leads to a deeper page with a YouTube video with more information about how to apply and remove these sticky strips. There are also links to PDFs and the 3M Command Strips Facebook page.

3M Goggles promotion
In this example, QR codes were placed upon products (in this case it was safety goggles) which were purchased and sent out to customers. Once a customer receives their goggles, they can simply scan the QR code and are provided with a mobile webpage with a Flash-type animation which thanks them for their purchase and also reminds them of other safety equipment in the range which may be of interest to them. If customers would like more information, they simply click on the link and are taken to a data capture page where they are asked for their email address so that 3M can send them a PDF brochure.
